Dear Frances Park Boots Review | Sizing & Quality
I recently purchased the Dear Frances Park Boots and finally decided to add a pair of lace up combat style boots to my collection.
We’re heading into the cooler Autumn/Winter season here in Sydney and I have been loving styling these chunky boots with some of my different outfits.
Given a more premium price tag, I wanted to do a proper review to share my thoughts on the comfort, quality and sizing of the Dear Frances Park Boots.
Quality & Comfort
The leather on the Park boot is very supple and pliable which has made it comfortable from day one.
A lot of boots I’ve worn in the past start out quite stiff and require breaking in. However with this pair, it is comfortable straight from the box.
To the touch, the leather is buttery smooth and you can tell by feeling it that it’s a high quality boot.
The shoe has a rubber sole which doesn’t have the stiffness of some of my leather soled shoes. It’s more slip resistant and doesn’t require a cobbler to add a rubber sole (which is what I usually do with leather soled shoes).
Sizing
After looking at their size chart and reviews, I went with the 37.5. Honestly, I definitely could have sized down to the 37 without any issue.
I have wider feet and usually wear a 37.5 in closed toe shoes or 38 in sandals/mules. Every source I read said these were true to size. For me, they fit 1/2 size large.
The 37.5 in these shoes definitely leaves some room and the 37 would have been the perfect size. That being said, I have an insole in mine, and it fits very comfortably without any issue.
Style
This is definitely my favourite thing about the Park Boot.
I’ve been looking for a pair of combat boots for quite literally YEARS. Either they’re too masculine or flat or chunky, and this shoe is just the most flattering pair I’ve tried.
A highlight of the shoe is the bead detail. They’re different on each shoe and I absolutely ADORE this. It is playful and fun, and just adds a different vibe to a classic combat boot.
They also have a 1 cm heel height which may not seem like much but I do think it looks much more flattering on the leg than a flat boot.
How I’m Wearing It
I purchased these boots as I love the combat boot styled with a midi skirt/dress. I love the juxtaposition between the feminine skirt and the more masculine shoe. For me, this is how I would wear the Park boot the most.
I’ve also seen it styled with different trousers and jeans, which of course looks very chic as well. I especially love this boot worn by Andrea from Season + Salt with denim (here) as well as Audrey Coyne with black trousers and a camel coat (here) .
